Title: Cyclopean Discord Priest
Name: Stone Perales
Country: USA
Software: Painter, Photoshop

This was another character that I designed for the (PC game) "Everquest:Gates of Discord" expansion by Sony Online Entertainment.

It's of a very high ranking Cyclops priest.
Each skull represents the head of a King that was personally slain by this character. The leather and fur of his armor come from dragon hide, as well as the pink quills.

The glyph floating above his head was an idea that was directly borrowed from one of my favorite artists, Wayne Barlow, in his book Barlow’s Inferno.

It represents magic that is ready to be released on command as a weapon.

My own spin on this idea is that this glyph was given to him by a great dragon that he serves, and also has the power to teleport his army. It doubles as a beacon to his troops.

This character was intended to be 12 feet tall in game.

After I brushed the line work in India ink, I painted the picture in Photoshop. Just recently, I added the finishing touches in painter.

(This was one of a series of production concept pieces of villains I made. The unifying them in the series is the adaptation the creature’s eyes to enable them to function in a lightless environment, and the inclusion of dragon hide in their costume. Used with permission by Sony Online Entertainment. More coming soon!)

interesting character concept! Good work! My crit is the chains... they are very stiff and dont seen to hang realistically... maybe you intended it to be that way:shrug: , i dont know but they dont even hang down straight, they curve away from the cyclops. maybe straighten the chains and perhaps overlap the skulls a bit, it would give a better feel of actual chains...

another thing i realized is the cyclops eye... why is it on the side where a normal persons eye would be... ive never seen a cyclops whos eye wasnt in the center...
