Honestly, this looks like it was done with a combination of different photos. There are quite a few places where things are of lower quality than the rest of the piece: the Chameleon, the shadow of that thing on the wall is low quality and being cast in the wrong direction compaired to the light source, the cloth under the cage (to the left) is also low quality. There are some other things too.
If you can show a work in progress then I'll believe this wasn't photo manipulation. But if you trully did paint this then I'm impressed.

The detail is beautifully done on the jewelry and flowers, and the lighting of the woman's hands and face are excellent - that must have taken a long time to complete!
The only elements that don't quite have the finished look like the rest of your painting (and I only really noticed it at the larger size after clicking the image) is the cord that ties her hair back, the chameleon (the light and shadows in particular) and the odd shadowing of the painting on the wall. Maybe it is the references that you used to help you compose the painting?
I do look forward to your next digital painting! This one was very nice. :)

really amazing ( same as previous 50 replys XD )
but a few points i think could be improved.
the rope that used to tie the hair together kinda lacks dept.. it's almost like it's in sketch state and ready be detailed.. it's to light.
there are some rather hard edges in the eye area.. maybe it's makeup though..
I have trouble trying to find the position of the light in this scene.. when i think i located it, some shadows wont match up.. mainly the shadows around the painting on the wall.
some pieces of the painting are absolutely amazing, ultra realistic... but other pieces, like the painting on the wall (the frame), the body is the cameleon, the right hand.
they kinda seem to be in a different state, a state yet to be detailed.
Not sure why i post this though.. people who just post their work and dont reply.. they kinda annoy me... ah well

My guess is it's mostly photo images with quite a bit of paintover/filters to achieve the "painterly" look.
If someone thinks this was painted from hand, they are from another planet.

I simply adore the lighting the the colors of this piece and all the beautiful detail of the jewlery. My fav part is the Chameleon.
Even if this is a paintover of photographs or photmanipulation (I seriously can't tell since I am still a digital newbie) it's still a wonderful piece of artwork in my eyes. I don't see why this would be a problem if s/he is the copyright owner of the photos. :/

I'm usually a big fan of very realistic pieces, but to be quite honest this looks like you've used shortcuts and relied too heavily on reference, and that you don't actually understand fully what it is you're painting.
Its sharp, sterile style lacks the soul and expressivness that makes portrait paintings so wonderful.
That, and the cut+pasted looking parts (shadow falling the wrong way on wall, peculiar & inauthentic looking squiggly thing on her forehead, flat unrealistic shading of the chameleon) make me wonder about the authenticity :\
You don't see masterful quality and awkwardly noobish stuff in the very same image unless something's up, mate.
Hope I'm wrong, of course.

Of course it is possible to paint this well - particularly if you're using references.
Anyone who says otherwise is just showing their ignorance - I've seen even more realism done in oils!
This doesn't look like a manip/paintover to me - just a well composed, carefully painted piece.... not perfect, but bloody good.

nice work...:). not quite sure of what is going on, but it looks nice. there is one major thing that i dont agree with, the shadow on the wall thrown by that hanging piece is not right. it must be on the other side of the piece seeing the light on the lady.

Hi there Faicean,
Just to settle the matter in the best way possible, please post the photographic reference which you used for your piece. It was my mistake for having validated your image without requesting photo reference, so I apologize for the controversy this has caused.
I'm sure that if you post photographic reference (which is a typical request which I ought to have made) this will settle the matter nicely. :)
Until that time, there is really no need for further discussion regarding the image's validity.
Cheers, :)

Alright, after seeing those other threads I honestly think this guy should be banned.
He's been caught numerous times before, not only for copying commercial glamour photography, (which is what this painting looks like) but for copying paintings by iconic artists like Brom and Royo.
Shameful.
Pretty damned funny that people in this thread were comparing him to Linda Bergkvist in any way, and even calling this guy more skilled! Sure, he makes pretty and very realistic images, but they ain't HIS.
Linda can paint extremely well on her own, and shoots her OWN reference when she needs it.
Jeez, some of you guys are so gullible.
Calling (rightful) suspicion "trolling" and "witch-hunting"? :curious:
If is wasn't for people realising this was too good to be true and digging around, he'd be getting away with plagiarism.

Well, I wasn't meaning that this work -or any other- is so good that is not possible to be done fairly. There are real skilled artist around able to achieve this quality or better. The point is it seems to me very improbable that the same artist can improve so much in few months... unless using the Neo's Martial Arts Learning Program System. LOL

I'm not against people digging around to expose frauds - but as I explained, what upsets me is those who accuse without evidence just because an image is highly realistic. - Linda's had loads of comments like that in the past.
Based on what others have dug-up, I wouldn't be suprised if this is a fake. But it doesn't change the point - some decided it was fake just because it was realistic. Hence the 'trolls'!

after having a look at your previous post and see those 2 bad "fake/copy/paintover" you've done we just can be very doubt full and suspicious about this painting... you've been proven cheater two times here and you come back again saying you're going to surprise us? are you shame less?
The only way for me to trust you is that you post your photo reference... you have been asked to do so but you don't do it...
so come on, surprise me

Absolutely beautifully painted. Interesting, yet successful colour combination. No crit, very nice work! Five stars. :applause:
EDIT:Once a plagiarist, always a plagiarist.
Considering this user has been busted twice in the past for paintovers and plagiarism, I'll take this "painting" with a grain of salt.

The fact that he's been allowed to continue posting on this forum after clearly plagiarising a Royo painting mystifies me. What's even more mysterious is why this so called artist continues to even post here after being busted... I know I'd go hide in a dark corner if that happened to me.Disappointing - Having done it not once, but twice before! Hmm, very low. :( Nice to see those close-ups and that 'wip', but I'm not convinced until I see a more substantial WIP and/or your photographic reference. I like to think it's genuine, and if proven so, you have my apology.

if you have more question, please leave your message.
ok, Le Chen, I don't mean to nag, but I have a few questions.
MapleIceCream, it would be great if you would translate for him if necessary :)
- Why did you paint over the art of Gerard Brom, Luis Royo and others, and never credit them in your descriptions? Do you realise this is theft, and not an acceptable practice?
I rather doubt this is some kind of cultural misunderstanding ;)
- Can we please see the photo references you used, so we know if this is or isn't a paintover like your previous works posted? This has been asked many times already.
- This one isn't a question. but anyway.
If you have actually moved up from art theft and paintovers, and have truly gained this amazing amount of skill in a matter of months, then congratulations, that's a marvellous achievement! And all the best for your future career!
So sorry I missed this master piece!
But better late then never, right?
MASSIVE IMPRESSIVE!
