HAVE FUN.
We will try to post one of these topics once a day for your enjoyment.
These are the rules:
* Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
* RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
* They can be done on any medium.
* If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
* Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
* The topics will be posted every day between 10:00 - 12:00 am US EST.
* The artist also has to post total length of time it took (Thanks Clanger for the idea) and program used.
* Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
* Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
* The topics will be picked at random from the list on this thread
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
*You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them). NEW RULE!
* Ill post ANOTHER thread to quantify and track WHO has participated the most on these threads.
Good luck
-Roberto

Hi everybody! ...It's been a while since I posted anything here...
http://www.telefonica.net/web2/chapuceros/sketches/lantern.jpg
I think it took maybe 1h 20 min or so... I don't like the guy, I still get a lot of trouble drawing human forms.... but I'm happy with the accident around the moon...
I'm a bit worried about the lack of participation lately... where's everybody? if this is so empty now, what will happen when the next challenge starts? c'mon people!

I just couldn't resist this one....Maybe its because I just got back from the Megacon and have Comics on the brain....
Photoshop and Wacom, 45 minutes. BTW, I usually do these in pencils, it was surpisingly difficult to do this with a Wacom....

Hi guys ;) Today's topic is inspiring!!! I don't want to clutter it with some wip (cause I'm not sure I'll finish it in time) so I posted the current stage of development in my signature thread I'd be glad to hear your opinions / advices on it.
Cheers ;)

Hooray! My first post! I've been poking around a bit, and deceided I really couldn't resist the topic. It made me think about what all those crazy kids did for fun before television.

Valentina: lovely sketch. I must say you are improving fast!. Composition and colours are good! I like the translucency of the candle (must keep it in mind in my own painting) and the dots of light on the wall. Very moody atmosphere.
A question: did you use any reference for the candle?
regards, Enrico

Grazie Enrico :)
Nope, didn't use reference, usually I don't as I tend to loose myself looking for more when I first do :scream:

Well, that's mine...I'll call this final. Maybe six hours on photoshop, no references. It's a bit oversize (800x800) let me know if I have to reduce it.

Altheia: need more contrast for further realization.. nice try, but i didn't get the point of idea..
djtrousdale: creative vision ;)
twistercash: nice idea to paint an afro-man in a dark night ;) double black ;)
Lady Medusa: your candle is very impressive and realistic - great result for painting without references!
Xillion: best idea and realization of this topic for now

Sorry for the lateness but I felt bad for not contributing recently...
Also I'm currently in a comics art mood so here's a sketch of one of my fav comic superhero - the definitive Green Lantern Hal Jordan (accept no substitutes!)
