View Full Version : Rigging a penguin beak

I'm doing a lip syncing project for my animation 2 class. What would be the best way to rig a penguin beak so it has nice flexiblity when it's talking. It's a cartoony beak. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

Their are multiple ways to do pultiple things. In waht style you like the beak. Imagining how you'd like it to move gives you the solution (at least gives you an idea of what you need). For instance, for this kind of motion for Pingu (a great animated serie) I'd simply a non-linear derformer like flare : http://www.pingu.ch/flash/pingu_picture.htm
Your best bet is probably with blendshapes.
