I'm not gonna watch it before I go to the movietheatre.
I saw, by chance, treebeard in a beastiary book yesterday. :(
I've tried to avoid all these extra clips lately. Looking forward to the film, don't wanna ruin all the surprises :)
Probably won't manage to control myself though :). so there is a good chance I might check 'em out :)
This is the second trailer with Cint Mansell Music..

aronofsky movies (and their music) seem to be way too unpopular not too be ripped apart by major-players ... sucks !

Oh man
Tickets are sold for the next 2 weeks already. So I'll probably see it next year. I can't wait any longer !!!!
Hope it's better than part 1, which I thought was a bit too long.

Yeah, I saw this clip on my TV about an hour ago for the first time, and it just left me floored... best commercial yet. Glad someone found it on the net too.
Man, talk about good marketing... if this doesn't make people wanna see the film, nothing will.
Anyone else notice that fraction of a second of gollem jumping towards the screen towards the end? There's a lot of motion blur, but from what you can see, he looks sweet!

what? I can't understand why they choose to use music from another movie, don't they have enough money to produce some of their own?
I keept thinking about reqium for a dream and what a great and disturbing movie that was.

oh man, that is... man, it's so thrilling just to watch the trailer.
About the music... I never saw requiem for a dream... so I guess I'm one of few who don't find anything wrong with it.
Of course, I'm hoping that the actual movie soundtrack will not include that tune at all.
As a matter of fact, the movie soundtrack list is on the movie's website. So I don't know what that song is called, but if you guys know, and check out the list, maybe you can see if it appears in the actual movie.
If it doesn't, than that's even better!
Because then even though we get a glimpse of the visuals of the Two Towers, the audio will be completely new to us.
And I really really love the LOTR audio from the fellowship of the ring, it was way cool!
rock on Weta!

Maybe they're saving the music for when you go out and buy the soundtrack? Cuz you know everyone will anyways. Besides, I've heard the same music from movies used in trailers that weren't even the movie the score came from.
For instance, Gladiator's soundtrack was used in a couple movies' trailers. made me wanna watch it again.
Anyways... I'm going to the first showing Wed. With my luck, the theatre will be 1/2 full by the time the doors open.
Hmmm... anyone tempted to use Fandango? lol

Man, I don't care if this movie is 4 hours long. I'll sit through the whole thing, avoid pee breaks and just star mesmerized.
If you've read the books, you'll realize that to be able to get most of the stuff in, the movies have to be a bit longer then most, which is fine by me.:bounce:

The funny thinig is, I never seen Reqium for a Dream and I though that that track was by Paul Oakenfold. It has this music in his new album Bunkka its called Zoo York. It more of a trance but it has the same violine theme.

I ran across this website as I anxiously await the release of the Two Towers:
twotowersprotest@twotowersprotest.org
This is the most irresponsible piece of media I have ever seen. To tarnish the name of J.R.R. Tolkien by somehow connecting his work with terrorism, is deplorable. I have written this organization and given them a piece of my mind. I suggest all of you do also. What a disgrace.

Sorry, I posted the email address by accident. Here is the real website address:
www.twotowersprotest.org
I'm just so mad.
Some people. Can't live unless they live in fear all thier lives, probably the same people that are so scared they can't leave their house cause dem bad terrorists will get'em... The fact that we can move on pays tribute to those that died. Willowing in sarrow, two years later solves nothing. Not to mention the fact that, that's what the hell the movie/book is named. What, shall we call it, "A couple towers" "Part 3/4 of the series" "A tower + 1" "LOTR, Some more orks", wtf? Get a life people, complain about something worth compalining about.. Being PC over every single thing and to every single person is what is degrading this society...

We believe that Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema's actions are in fact hate speech. The movie is intentionally being named The Two Towers in order to capitalize on the tragedy of September 11. Clearly, you cannot deny the fact that this falls under hate speech. We believe that if they will not willingly change the name, the government should step in to stop the movie's production or to force a name change.
Idiots. Plain and simple.
Anyone wanna tell these people that the title "The Two Towers" was published almost 50 years ago?
And change the title?
If Jackson did that, he'd have LOTR fans from around the world calling for his head on a stick.
These petitioners need to grow up.

That protest was around ages ago. Apparently it was actually a hoax started by some well-known prankster.

Y'know, I was actually halfway through a response to these morons...
Then I remembered how pointless it is to respond to people whom a) I could care less about and b) they're obviously so stupid that nothing intelligent would penetrate their opinions or lives anyway.
Sigh... The logic of the petition/Web site is so flawed, it just makes me more sad than mad now.
The only hope is that they have kids that someday turn to them and say, "Dad, you're a real dork, aren't you?" :D

Leigh, if you're right about that... than shame on all of us for keeping it alive
Anyway, it reminds me of the folks who said "Attack of the Clones" was about Latino/Mexican immigration into America... despite the fact that Jango and all his clones had NEW ZEALAND accents!!!
Oh, and also Tinkie-Winkie being anti-"American values" by being gay.
Man, if you try hard enough, you can make anything look Anti-something. But, why would you want to put so much effort into these kind of causes? Aren't there some REAL people being hurt somewhere?

I dont know about that, but my local news station has run at least 2 stories on it within the past week... that I've seen.
It would show something like: "Local parents angered over 9/11 refenerence in upcoming blockbuster" and would cut to some 50 year old mother blaming LOTR's for capitialising on 9/11, and somthing about not allowing thier kids to go see the film unless the name was changed.
There's senstivity, and then there's blatant ignorance.

I don't understand how they can say the moving is capitalizing on 9/11, when the book came out in 1954. It's complete lunacy. Well, at least take into account that their efforts to have the movie either change it's title, or not be released have failed. Guess they didn't convince too many people. Maybe more intelligent people out there then previously thought possible. :applause:

Stuff about the soundtrack
It's very, very, very common in the film industry to borrow music pieces from other films when composing trailers as often, the actual soundtrack for the movie is incomplete; so no-one should get too worried going "OMG they stole Requiem for a Dream's music.", it won't be in the actual film.

You know, when I looked at that protest site all I could think about was a scene in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back with Ben Affleck trying to explain to Jay and Silent Bob "Guys they're not talking about you, they're talking about fictional chracters (does the hand gestures) FICTIONAL CHARACTERS!!!"
Stupid people just make me laugh.

I have a sneaky suspicion it's one of those “see it more then once to really appreciate it” kinda films.
Coupled with the fact that it’s three hours long means one has to invest a bit more time and money into it then an ordinary movie. Damn that Jacksson bloke.
Hmmm 10 hours 30 minutes…. All three extended editions in one sitting… Cant’ wait!
:)
Now, if I only could spot the Uruk-hai answering the cellphone during the Helms-deep assault. ;)
