First post here and very new to handling this type of thing digitally. I would love some tips. Here is my current WIP.

Any help you can provide for a newbie digital artist hopeful would be greatly appreciated.

You're doing this with a mouse aren't you? looks like it since you placed so many vectors instead of freehand lines.

I think easthetically it's great, just to early in to make a difference I guess.

Yeah. I started it with a mouse to lay in the basic blocks.

This is as far as I am going tonight.

Doing this on the computer is just hard to get used to, then again, I imagine everyone feels that way in the beginning.

I'm basically looking for tips on the shading techniques. I've been using a crosshatch and then blending it. Not sure if that's the way I should be going at it or not.

A little too big, so had to move it to flickr.

Thanks. Some of the talent here is just absolutely remarkable and to even have them look at my work is appreciated.

I added a little more shading and started blocking in the neck. Tried to bring a little more life to the eye.

Latest update. Running out of ideas on it now. May move to coloring it.

I think I learned quite a bit about the digital painting process during its development.
