Congratz on a great reel! You really surprised me with how well you did the compositing! It really looks like a toy coming to life.

The modelling is very intricate. Great job with the attention to detail!

Hey Richard!

Excellent work, man! You had me a bit worried in term 5 when all you had was the model (which is awesome by the way), but then stuff came together really quickly. And the best part is that the quality wasn't compromised. My favorite part is when all the little bits fly off. Sweet. 5 stars!

rjays: thank you soo much ^_^
tony: hehe thanks dood, the model took me long time since i wanted to be exactly like the toy, cm by cm. I guess i kind of went crazy with it but no regrets. Thanks alot, was soo fun working with you and rest of 3d55. good luck with job hunting dood.

Heya Richard ~ I really like how your reel turned out. I was pleasantly surprised with the little explosion at the end. The integration turned out really nice. GOOD JOB MAN! Well, keep in touch, and see ya around.

Good Luck!

Heej Richard!

I just want to say that I loved our reel. The explosion is very cool, and the footsteps on the beat of the music are very nice! Well done!

Ingmar

PS: What song is that?

am i the only one that was disapointed..... IT WAS TOO SHORT....lol. but seriusly great job i really liked the short part of it we got to see but i really think i chould be extended. it seemed to hit a good beet and died. i really enjoyed that. and i agree with everyone that i didn't think its going to move tell it moved and came to life awsome. awsome model i currently working on a gundam model cm for cm its the strike astray and wing gundam ver. ka.

Yo

I think you did a hell of a job with almost every aspect of this reel, excpecially modeling and lighting which are phenomenal.
Still think you should have replaced the sky in the background but it worked out just the same.
Good luck finding a job dude, i am sure offers are gonna be piling up soon

Your reel completely kicks ass!! I am in term 3 right now and was planning of building a Gundam for my demo reel. Maybe I should my idea now.

How did you do the part where the camera was rotating? I was not sure if your background is CG or not.

Do you have pics of the Strike's wireframe?

PKMAN : yeah, wireframe is already posted if u follow the WIP gundam thread on my signature.
Rotating camera is done by taking 114 still images around the table with a still camera, and then stabilized in after effects.

Hey Ingmar,

Not sure if you already found this... but here's the song info anyway.

It's from the Matrix Soundtrack (1st Matrix), called "Clubbed to Death", by Rob D.

Hope that helps!

Just replied to your Strike thread... I repeat, amazing. The detail on the model is superb. As for the reel, I think maybe you should spend a little more time with model rotations at the end, show wireframes and close-ups...

I agree, too short... I want more! :applause:
