View Full Version : Image Plane issues
HawaiianShirt 02-25-2006, 09:19 PM I'm not sure if i have this in the right catagory. I'm new to maya and maya help is pretty much useless. Anyway, the trouble i'm having is that I was modeling a character for a project in class in maya 6.5. I come home and work in 6.0 with no real trouble previously. but now, the image planes for my template won't load when i open the file. and when i try to load in new image planes all I get is a black swatch. the maya help says this is because it's not connected to a camera, but it doesn't tell me how to connect it to a camera. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if this will help any, but here's some things you could try...
Change the settings in the SHADING menu which is above your viewing windows. Make sure SMOOTH SHADE ALL is on.
Restore your default settings, in case you changed something somewhere on accident. For that, go to the WINDOWS menue, than SETTING/PREFERENCES than PREFERENCES. A menu box will open. Go EDIT, than RESTORE DEFAULT SETTINGS
Lastly, try reloading your texture in case the file is somewhere that Maya can't find it.
Good luck with that :)

All of the above and if it doesn't work, reinstall the software :)
