View Full Version : Max5: Exporting a character using the Skin modifier into DirectX
GRMac13 12-13-2002, 03:03 AM I need to know if there is a DirectX exporter plug-in for max5 which supports Bones and characters skinned using the Skin modifier. Most of the ones I've been seeing do support Bones, but only support Physique as a skinning method. Any help would be appreciated this is the first time I'm trying to export a character to a game engine.

I've never used it with bones, but have you looked at the Flexporter? http://www.codercorner.com/Flexporter.htm
We only really use CS, so I'm not sure if it supports them or not. Its a good, open source exporter though, and your programmer shouldn't have any problem integrating it into your pipeline.
