http://vegarius.free.fr/3d/skydome.jpgI I have a problem with Mental ray problems with skylight.
1. I have only the sky as light.
2. Final gather is up to 1400

The first frame is very fine , but after rendering animation i see that the shadow move. In the scene nothing is animated. Only the camera that move around the objects.

Any body know this problem.
You can download the scene here (http://vegarius.free.fr/3d/setup_skylight2.max)

Well judging from your posted settings: If the only thing moving is the camera then why aren't you using a saved FG map instead of calculating the FG each frame? That would help prevent any flickering and speed up the renders.

Hello

Yes i tested with FG saved and it's ok. It doesn't flicker. But it doesn't solve the problem.
If i have any object animated the FG saved it is not correct.

My question is how to make an animation with skylight without shadow flickering.

If you save an FG map and animate an object Mental Ray will still calculate FG but it will only do any parts that are needed not the whole thing, so it will be correct.

With Fg savec et rebuild selected the shadows are flickering yet.
Any body has à solution. I think it 's the simply thing that mantal ray have to do. I imply skylight with no flickering shadow.

I downloaded your scene file and I could render without flickering without problems.
Now you are saying that scene is not your problem because your problem is a scene
with animated objects. Then why post that scene?
Well, I think you are not using right the Final Gather Map.
You must do this:
- Uncheck Rebuild
- Check Use File and click the three dots button and choose a directory and name for
the final gather map (fg.fgm or so)

Also make 2-sided the material of the teapot for avoid that transparency in the top.
Also choose .tga instead .jpg because jpg is lossy compression and it creates artifacts.

If you are still having flickering post the file (but the right one!).
