View Full Version : First Malestudy
JakeJK 02-24-2006, 09:01 PM Hi!
My name is Jakob Kousholt.. this is my first time posting here in the WIP forum! :). I'm 17 years old. I currently do some modelling and texturing for the game company serious games in copenhagen.
Here's a model I'm doing to get a better understanding of anatomy, which I was recommended by a friend of mine.. Stripe! :)

Thats a good model, how did you find a job at the age of 17, im 17 and there arent any game developers that will offer me a job.

I agree, nice topology. Your edge loops around the eyes and mouth seem to work well. Maybe need to see a more developed version of this character. Good start though.

To Richard Bray,
Even though you are 17, this doesn't mean that everybody else who is 17 will be at the same level. Freelance work is cut-throat, you have to really know your stuff to make any money. I mean no offence, but the proportions of your face models are inferior to that of the renders posted above, even though these are at a very early stage, you can see that this guy has more of the 'eye' for it. This may be lucky, or not, we will see when it is finished?
Some guys can model there asses off, but cant paint a texture for shit. Only true All-Rounders can make big money freelancing.
You have a good base to progress into some more serious studies, maybe in uni?
Keep going.

hej jakob din overdrevet torsk =]
It's looking really god, the head is crazy..
They is only a few things bothering me, the ribcage looks very weird,
and i think the abs are to wide, but that I already told you.
The only new thing, i can think about, is the shoulders looks to small.
Maybe you should pump them up a little.
Can we see a Wire???
jeg smadrer dig!! =)
See you,
Anders

Hi there,
Great model so far. Good work on the nose. The corner of the lips needs work, its not fleshy enough , it seems to just 'end'. The jaw it well done , as is the neck muscles.
Waiting for an ear of course, take your time on that.
Under eye is ok, but it doesnt flow down well enough. The cheekbone is too pronounced in that area.
Under the lips on either side should also be more fleshy.
The chin on either side should be more defined.
More polys, but place them well, now your topology looks good. Although try to keep all poly roughly the same size. Respectively. particulary in reference to the forhead.
Where the ear conects. it should not dip in that far.
Under the nose there should not be such a visible hard edge.
Good luck, you have a nice start mate.
Richard : . Maybe you shouldn't be focusing so much on your age(your name), one of my best friends is 17 and works in a big production house as a modeler. I know others at companies I have worked for, That have such a high skill level, age is not a barrier.
