i am doing this tutorial from splutterfish here:

Brazil HDRI Tutorial (http://www.splutterfish.com/gabry_hdri_tut_tmp/)

and when i get to step 2, the part where it says to bring in the .hdr image file, there is nothing in my 3dsmax saying i can bring in a .hdr file (Radience Image File). So, I guess that means i need to download a plugin for me to be able to load .hdr files.

Any ideas?

you need the HDRI Bitmap I/O plugin, available from http://www.splutterfish.com

It's in the downloads section
