This is something I'm putting together as a midterm for my photoshop class. The instructor touted that no one has ever done an effective space scene for his class and tried to discourage the idea.

Bwahaha! Bring it on! ^^

The dimensions are 12"x7" 300dpi, 3600x2100

I added a simple unsharpen mask before reducing the size to bring out the stars in the background.

Looks pretty good so far!

I think the only thing looking a bit off is the composition in the bottom picture. The bright yellow draws your eyes immediately there and wants to hold them. In the top picture your eyes flow over the picture better. You may want to add something to the darker right hand side too.
I'm no pro with composition, so I can't say much else to help.

I probably used a bit too much fog and I may revist it later but for now I'm done with this piece.
