Well ive created a creature with a tail and rigged the tail using the standard tail from curve. If i apply a save action or translate the model the in this scene the dynamics on the tail are there. However, when i import the model into a new scene the tail does not behave dynamic at all

Im wondering whats wrong

ps thanks for the reply mocaw

To my knowlege you can not export the model with the tail's dynamics intact, as the spring operator used is stored under the scene defaults operators, and not the object. You will have to either reapply the operator after you import the model, save the scene and then merge the scene into the one you need to import the model into(or vise versa) or do your animation then save the simulation as fcurves.

Sorry for no straight forward solution

hmm thanx for reply i haven't tried it yet but guess their might be away to save out the spring ops and just reapply them ..ill give it a shot then try your method

if you create a model before applying the tail , the spring cache will be stored in the model's mixer and exported with it... (otherwise the tail uses the global scene mixer wich is not exported in models)

I recently had this question answered.

Make sure the tail is created within the "model" that includes the initial curve used to generate the tail. Then when you export the model the tail and all of it's dynamics will go along for the ride.
