this is a nice peice of work
the little girls eyes do not hint to me of innocence - but of something sad , hidden

Looks to me like the great Enayla's got some competition :P Not meaning to cause any conflict of course... Your work's just at THAT level you know? :) Love how you transform yourself as a reference into different characters that are similar in their own little ways but at the same time still manage to look unique in every piece. Keep 'em comin'. This awesome community might offer to host your site in the future... Who knows :P :scream:

the hair is the weakest attribute in this picture, is not that well rendered (for this caind of picture) and seems not to me attach to the head, other then that great job-

That's absolutely gorgeous, I'm taken with the innocence of the subject crossed with a pallette that's typical to much darker works :)

amazing, it's a master piece, the face is very original and expressive, the whole color palette fits really well together. The flower in the hair and butterflies are a nice touch, they compliment well the image composition/color wise.
great work

Very nice work, Escarina.... I like it. Congratulations for the frontpage.
...no reference for the girl, as usual i'm the model.
Are you really so sweet? If yes, please marry me.
I realy like your work and this painting is very good!
front page stuff indeed!
your work is very advanced, so i will give you one small crit.
the childs face is some what flat and lacks some depth,
this could be due two two main reasons the backround lacks real depth and therefore has a flattening effect on the girls face as it contrasts with her pale face, or maybe it its the hair either side of her face it maybe a touch too light, and this would have the effect of drawing out the face in the same flattening way. darking this area may improve depth in your image.
Please note...
this is only a suttle crit as the panting its self is truly fantastic.
:)
keep up the great work and i look froward to your future works.

Am thrilled to see a new piece from you Melanie - beautiful and emotional yet again. I say a well deserved award is about due!
Love the subdued colours and subject matter. 5*'s.
awsome... love the elements.. c ya !
Allow me to criticize the composition a tiny little bit; the way the lollipop 'touches' the arm (and the sleeve, and the hair that appears on the bottom of it) isn't really helping the composition nor the depth of the image, in spite of the apparent blur, it might have looked a little better if you'd moved the lollipop half an inch to the left or to the right. Other than that nice piece of work, soz for pickin nits, I really love the diadem :}

Lovely painting, I do have a little crit. I think the eyes would fit more with a more mature woman, not a little girl. There's something about them, perhaps childrens eyelids are less dark and a bit more puffy... Anyways, that's about it :)

lovely color scheme Melanie. I noticed you mirroed the face - it's interesting because it actually does work in this one even though I am not a fan of such a shortcut ;)
And lately everyone seems to paint girls with flowers in their hair..I think I need to change the look of my current's girls hairdo.. 0_o

This is beautiful.
I'll give you a note in "materiality" (is that the word?).
Some materials in this work, like metal or candy, looks a little "dull", same as hair, maybe need some tiny specular highlights to give them glossyness. Offcourse this is just my opinion.
Great work

This is lovely. Subject, execution... very nice! I have a note though,... For what the picture is about, don't you think it is done in very cold tones? I mean. its a kid with a candy, I would've put some warmth in there.
Just a thought :)

i love this pic...conveys everything you intended...
there is one little detail i don't like..and thats the shadow on the upper arm..but the central area and colours are supurb..i also like the light gesture of holding the lolipop works well..stunning bit of work love it. the face/eyes and butterfly work really well in this.

Technicaly great, but she appears not to express innocence. Her expresion transmits a sensation of intense interior life, like if she had a problem or something.
Is a very beautiful painting anyway.

I like it very much, but I think the face of the child looks to mature for the age, if you look only too the face you could think she is 20+, well, thats my perception though....
Everything else, 5 stars!

This really is quite exquisite!
I love the painterly look of the hair, and the way it contrasts with the photorealistic elements of this work. To me it makes it feel slightly confronting, like the viewer has been caught in the act of discovering her emerging from the canvas... just my 2 cents :)
I have no crits...this piece simply "is"!

Woa, there are so many things to say about this painting... o.o
That girl, she looks like a child but she has the expression of a very evil woman. I love the skin tone, altogether with all the detailing, such as the butterflies. The blurry background is impressive too. Top marks!

Beautiful! I especially appreciate the stylized background, reminds me a little bit of Muscha.
As for the innocence, it's only official talk. The whole picture emanates a diffuse lolita-style sexuality from the loose hair, mature eyes, flowers and ambiguous accessory : the lollipop!
How can we not think of Serge Gainsbourg song : "Annie aime les sucettes" ? (Annie loves lollipops)

For you all guys, Mélanie is (a little bit) older than on this painting but she is as cute as you can see. Very good work, a lot more in the mood I like than your other posts. This one technicaly rocks as the other did but had this simple beauty the others needed....

Really nice Image. Is anice Girl but I dont know Why, it kinds of scare me. I guess is the look in her eyes that makes her look inocent but at the same time evil. And the colors, o my good this could be on a wall in a resident Evil Game And it would totally freak me out.

The eyes and eyebrow region look more adult somehow..maybe the eyes are set too deeply, or it's the filled out eyebrows..I don't know what it is.
I love the color scheme, although it seems to lend a bit of melancholy rather than innocence.
Well done...maybe someday I will be able to paint this well :)
