Hey all,

I need some C&C's for my 1st ever lip sync piece. Right now I just have the blocking down but there will be more on the way soon. If anyone has any suggestions for how to fill in the gaps, ideas for expressions, etc. please dont hesitate to let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

hard to crit in such a blocked stage but i would suggest that he needs to talk with his hands more like when he says this 'thing is useful' wave the hand a bit. just act it out on film or in the mirrror to see what you do.

OK. So here's another update. Thanks for the eye brow suggestion, dalmanna. I toned it down and think it flows much smoother now. Everyone, please let me know what you think now...

A little further along in refining my pose to pose. Now I must EAT and watch bad reality TV for awhile. Stay tuned for more later.

Is he going to have any movement in his torso? His body is very rigid at the moment.

gaiasgrace: yes he's going to have plenty of movement in his torso, arms, and head (shifting weight, hand gestures, etc.). Right now I'm just trying to work out the animation for my pose to pose to get it all blocked out.

Right now I'm just looking for opinions on how the lip sync and animation are working so far, ideas for gestures, eye movement, emphasis, etc. Thanks for your help.

And yet another update...
I have added some movement and weighting to the first half of the poses so the 2nd half is still a little static. Lemme knoiw what you think.

I also have a question that someone on here can hopefully answer. I was counting on taking my characters Poly mesh and converting it to Sub D's (I'm using Maya, btw). I can convert his body and head to Sub D's without a problem BUT once I do this the mesh will not stay bound to the character's skeleton. As you can see in my animation I used poly smooth which proves to not be as 'clean' or smooth as Poly => Sub D. Does ANYONE know a way to fix this problem???
