I've recently had problems trying to import my .obj file into zbrush with all my UV's layed out fine, and when I bring it into zbrush I get a different result. The pics below show my UV's layed out in maya7 and the after result. the uv's are a little messy as far as layout but none are overlapping or unmerged. NEED HELP!

i fixed it by seperating all the UV sections into their own 0 to 1 coordinate plane. Before I had crammed all the UV sections into one single plane, but when you spread them out like the pic below you get the best polygroup results! once your in maya and working in the texture editor go to View>Grid Attributes. then change the grid length to something around 5-7 (depending on how many polygroups desired in zbrush) and you'll then be able to arrange your UV sections properly.
