View Full Version : Export Nulls To Ae
howzit 02-22-2006, 11:56 PM Hi,
Being able to export camera data to AE, can you export NULLS to AE. I read that Cinema carries the exact same coorindates as AE. So a point 3000 units in Z space in Cinema is 3000 units Z space in AE?

Hi howzit - you can use lights instead of nulls, position etc data is transferred. I believe the coordinates match except +y in C4D is -y in AE.

ahhh thanks a lot Chris. How do I export the light data? Does it then show up as a null in AE or a AE light?
Hey, you just helped me a lot!

If you have lights in your scene, they'll export. And you'll have lights in AE. Then in AE you can replace that light with a null or anything else. You should probably set the lights you want to use as nulls to omnis with zero intensity, so you won't get confused in AE.

ok cool, so i just set the lights i wanted as nulls, but under general in the light settings i checked seperate pass then, under multi-pass in the render settings, i set peparate lights to selected. that way if i have light arrays and too many lights i can just export the ones i want to use for nulls
works GREAT.
thanks a lot.
