Hello there !
thought i might post this quick sketch here to see if i could get some help with it, if its going well, whats good whats not. I will post further steps as i go along. Meanwhile here is the pic:

The atmosphere is already touchable, the light feeling is great!
The first thing that came to my mind was the option of giving to the image a vertical cut, to give the light a deeper curse onto the characters (did i write it well?!?!). This would give also more space to the tree on the background, which cold be beautiful with an interesting shape. And I'd manage the water very still, as it is very antique and neved moved before, also a nice touch would be some stalagmites, I would make all the atmosphere very humid. The person out of the water is touching, not helping, the person in the water, something a bit epic and classical as look.
Well, this is what the sketch at the first moment told me and what I felt, you can just ignore me, maybe you want to tell a different story (when I start to imagine I just can't stop :D)

The hands are getting wonderful, love how the ambience gets darker and colder, and the different skintones work really good together. Can't wait to see your choice for the expressions :)
(And I'm in love with the tree shape!)
I'm fascinated by this type of technique, I have a completely different way of painting.
And the cave feel suites well. (but just ignore me, if you think it doesn't :D)

You're welcome Rasputin, I try to write my opinion in my limits, I'm not very good in environments technique. I really love the overall atmosphere, it's coming out so well.
I just have to make a small crit about the man in the outside, the face is really to small in relation to the body, what do you think?
02-25-2006, 04:43 PM
I'm liking very much to see the progress.
I love the enviroment, and the rocks texture and trees, just turn me on.
I think the head or face of the right character is too small, comparing to the body, try to give some highlight in the characters, with the light that come from behind.
keep coming, i'm enjoying.

This girls face was a tough coookie but i am happy with the expression i found, kind of like ver exhausted, strengthless. Crits and comments appreciated.More updates to come.http://m03.hbg.lu.se/%7Eleventep/LookOut/death7.jpg

I like very much the expressions, love the contrast between the dramatic classical pose, and the dynamic expressions. It's getting great
( I was quite inspired by your work in my last piece, all that personal talking about caves and humidity leaded me to a cave environment, I'd really appreciate so much your opinion, even if drastic on my last piece, because I'm experimenting for my first time with richer environments, and I'm a bit unsure about the elements placing)
It's there. but only if you have aminute ;) (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=321643)
This last update is so realistic. It is so much more engaging than the wips leading up to it. You have a great eye for light and shadows. Can't wait to see this finished.

the lighting on the male figure's back really ties it together, the foreground and the background...it had been kind of 'on different layers' before that. I enjoyed watching the progression of the piece.
