I have created some particle systems for previs work and used objects as instances for the particle type. In the dropdown menu you can select to display them as nulls or bounding box.
Is there any solution to show the actual instanced objects in the viewport?

Thanks for the reply JoZeF-3D. Then I will keep rendering a lowres sequence of the particle simulation.
Have a nice day.

neogeo51,

If you want to check out in your netview, under simulate, you can find a script called Objects To Particles. It's written by Todd Akita and will place whatever object you have under a model in the space of the particles as instanced objects. These will appear in your viewport but should probably be used in moderation as the data can get quite large really fast. It's the only other way I know to display actual objects with particles.

hope it helps,

Cool Lu, wasn't aware of that. Of course, the geometry can definitely get a load on your computer.

Thanks guys
I tried the script. It works for me for simple setups, but it isn't very flexible while tweaking.
Hopefully we will have a nodebased psystem with xsi 5.5 or 6.0 with all the bells and whistles.
Kind Regards
