CGTalk - parse the file

hello everybody, I have one problem, when I try to open an .eps file with PS I get this error "Could not complete your request because the parser module cannot parse the file", what does it mean, and how can I solve this problem? (Acdsee open this .eps file with no problem...)

In my experience it means one of two things.

1 - it's not an eps file (could be an illustrator file or if it's raster it could be a tif).
2 - it's corrupt.

Have you tried opening it or converting it to a different file format? Alternatively try renaming the extension to .ai or .tif and opening it.
At work I recieve files from external clients on a mac format cd that are supposed to be eps and half the time they're tifs.
Is this your file or a client file that you're trying to open?
