I'm glad I'm not the only one whos run across this annoying "bug"
I've not had anyone who could help me though.
I have found that if you go to frame 0 and check the auto key and set key buttons on and off it'll clear the bug. Then you just have to make sure to go and delete any keys that might have been accidentally set.

Yeah I am glad too I am not the only one.
I discover the solution exactly like you say , but not sure is that the proper solution, I wonder does anyone report this to Discreet so they give a patch to solve it?

Can you post a max file that shows this problem, and clear steps on how to get it to happen. please be as clear as possible. I'll check it and pass it on to Discreet.

I really wish I could, but it seems to be totally random. I've never been able to accuratly reproduce the error in a scene. at first I thought it was because of the new set key option, but I'll have it happen randomly in a scene that doesn't have anything animated.
Tis very odd. Sorry I can't be of more help.
