ohh, they are sooo cute!
and they are kinda cool, too!
Great!
But IMHO it`s just some corny stereotype fantasy style :curious:

Why does this remember me of these stupid troll toys that were arround in the late 80s or early 90s.

The girl and the little guy are ok. The boy is not very appealing to me. Too pinkskin and the white hair are rather a bad choice i think.
Clothing is interesting. I guess i'll have to see a trailer or something to make a final judgement.

And they say anime has crazy hairdo. :D

Except for the little kid, I don't really like their faces, specially the dude with the sword, his hair look stuck on and makes him look like those little troll toys. Maybe it'll look better if they had gone for cell shading.

I got it!
It`s Final Fantasy on Trolloids! :argh:

Okay, I don't know anything about the movie, but I really dislike the character design. Dunno who came up with that but it looks pretty cheap and not really appealing.

Looks like this guy here:

Canīt really understand why all the bad reactions here on this thread... looks good to me, and sounds like a funny story.

I did a little research, and it seems itīs based on a fantasy book series by Luc Besson .
Hereīs the official link to the books, with more images and info on the characters:

Arthur et les Minimoys (http://www.arthur-lelivre.com/)

Anybody knows whoīs doing this? When itīll be released?

The guy whit the sword doesnt fit the hair in my opinion. It looks so thin and the lack of eyebrows makes it look sort of wrong in my opinion.

not sure what to say other than that :/. It would annoy me if I were to see it

The style of the scenery design is rather interesting now that i browsed their gallery a bit.

well the clothing looks quite good and the hair is looking good too, but the models and shaders beneath them are just bad(not the hands but the faces)... those characters are just boring, the don't look alive/real enough or they aren't stylized enough, however they aren't very appealing to me, maybe its just my bad taste but i don't like those guys :/

Umm... am I the only one who thinks Madonna is too old to be the voice of the girl character? :hmm:

I don't think the modeling is exactly "bad" per se (although they're definately not my cup of tea), but the characters' hair and faces look really horrible! :argh: (the skin shaders they used didn't help, either)

Sweet jesus, David Bowie and his oversized codpiece can't even dream of being as creepy as those things. :argh:

c'mon you're all professionnal enough to not judge the design or movie on those pre renders..those are no def at all I'm telling you, that sound more like a leak from the studio.

And when you know the quality the guys over at buff can come up with, I'm pretty sure it will be miles away from that.Just hold on for a while before firing red bullet at those picture.

cheers

I have a good sense of what will work on the screen and what not.
When I saw the first stills of Toy Story 1, I knew it wouldn`t work out!

What did I just say?! ... ahh forget it

The elf chick looks like Lilu from the Fifth Element. I'm not really feelin' the creepy troll doll look but I have faith in Luc Besson.

wow there seems to be allot of negative reaction here, (although kids with no eyebrows freak me out) im actually looking forward to this. In the west it seems that Cg animated movies are folowing the mould of, u know the group of talking animal friends going on an adventure, ( although i saw chicken little Yesterday and really enjoyed it). Those movies are quite good dont get me wrong, but i feel that at times western cg animation studios can push the potential of cg animation further, and im kinda happy to see this type of adventure style animation come out..... but man the dude needs some brows.

a lil off topic, but did you know that if you burn those old trolls they scream? kinda weird, when i was younger me and my friends tied one to a firework and ran so we couldnt here its screaming. Days later I saw its melted face on the pavement a few streets away and I had nightmares.:scream: Sorry had to get that out of my system, back on topic now.

I too, am looking forward to a more diverse style of Cg movie and this one could be really good, it's just that the design is not very appealing to me.

the character design seems to be "standardized" troll. i wish the characters were more imaginative.

I got a feeling thats what LUC BESSON wishes as well LOL!

Luc does some pretty weird stuff. Don't care for the look of these characters, and since they don't appeal to me, I probably won't venture to watch them.
