View Full Version : How to make notes?
javierdl 02-20-2006, 08:17 AM I know one can make notes in the Curve Editor/Dope Sheet when animating, but what about when you are not animating? What if I am only modeling and I want to create a note to myself for the next day?
I couldn't find how to do it in the Help file, nor I found a script at ScriptSpot.com :(
Any ideas?
Thanks,
DPC

hi,
you could hotkey "add a Pop-up Note" from customize user interface.
Every time you open the file there is a note you can edit.

Anssi,
Today I went back to max, and it welcomed me with the message below:

Any ideas? Is there anything I can do about it?

Anssi,
What version are you using?
I'm using 8.
Following text added time: 5pm (est)
It looks like there is an incompatibility issue, see the following excerpt:
"--
-- Author : Frederick Ruff
/*
Version: 3ds max 6
This script adds Popup Notes to scene files.
************************************* "
Now, if you tell me you're using r8 then I don't know

You can right click an object and chose Properties. There you have a tab, where you can enter any description you want. This description would be attached to the object. So, you can read it only if you select the object.
In File/Scene Info (or something like this), the one wich shows you the data about the scene (Vertex count, Face count, Object Count, etc) has a field where you can again enter the text you wish. This is visible at all times, regardless what object is selected. This description can also be read from windows, by right clicking the project file, and selecting Properties. You will see this description in the Summary Tab.
