The guy ( or the lady xD) in this Tutorial http://www.area-56.de/tutorials/hangar_86_tut.html used a neat texture ( he called it stone texture) do give his picture a better touch. Also he said something of 'soft light'.
I tried to find it here in the forums and in google, but i did not find out how exactly he did it...Can someone of you help me please?

A stone texture would simply mean a photo of a stone(s). something like: http://www.mayang.com/textures/Stone/html/Loose%20Stones%20and%20Gravel/index.html (http://www.mayang.com/textures/Architectural/html/Brick/index.html)
Most probably in grayscale.

He just put the stone photo at the topmost layer and change the layer mode to "softlight".
You can change layer modes at the dropdown menu in the layers panel, default is set to "normal".

Softlight works by making the white areas of the stone texture lighter and the black areas darker. So by doing so, the artist would make a slightly grainy picture with higher contrast. (at least thats what I think he was trying to do).
