Hi,
I recently started modeling an interior lounge to kick start my 3d portfolio,
I have always dabbled in and out of max over the years since 2.5 and now I would like to solidify all I know and just get down to creating some nice portfolio piece's.
My goal is to create a photo realistic or thereabouts image using Mental Ray I began modelling the room and objects in it, As I wanted to concentrate on the Lighting and rendering I dropped the modelling and began tinkering with MR refering to various tutorials to bring me to this point.
I now have a reasonable lighting setup, but still have some artifacts, I don't want to increase the photons or the sampling rate as the render time is quite high 10 - 20 mins on P4 3.06, 1.5G Ram. This is leading to frustration as I try and tweak the setting's to get it right.
MR Settings Used:
GI
Max No. Photons : 24000
Light Properties: Avg GI Pho. 20000
Multiplier: 1.5
Decay: 2.0
Final Gather
samples: 1200
Radi in pixels checked
Sampler : mitchell
min: 1 Max: 16
To make a short story long, I would like to get some suggestions on possible setting's I could change. Just need to know what information people would need to help me.
Have a look at the image's and let me know what you thinkhttp://www.geocities.com/mrkevinmcglone/room11.jpg
