View Full Version : JPEG to AVI?
ChrisDeKitchen 02-18-2006, 02:43 AM Does anyone know if there are any free but good jpeg to avi encoders that can batch convert several jpeg files into a single avi file? I rendered an animation to jpeg since the network rendering I was doing could not render to a movie file directly, some codec error I suppose.

Never mind, I found virtual dub, works great for that very purpose. However, I canīt decide on what codec to compress the video to, any suggestions? I want it to be a relatively wide-spread codec since itīs going to be a showreel, but at the same time I want good quality and decent performance...

The most widely spread video formats are divx & xvid. Also mp4 is gonna be the king of video compression in the near future!

Using AE just to convert JPEGs to avi is a bit overkill, no?
