View Full Version : Dragon WIP
coreybastiaans 02-18-2006, 01:32 AM Hi all, I thought I would start a thread as I go through making my Dragon Creature. The modelling is done in Maya with Displacements and Bump maps painted in photoshop.

The head is very good, very delicate, however the neck was very not good-looking...

Cool dragon. However he looks more like stone than scales, if thats what your going for then you nailed it on the head. Cant wait to see the finished product.

I have worked some more on putting some scaly bumps on the head. Next area I will be working on is the appearance of the neck.

..nice start, but it looks too symmetrical to me. I mean the upper & lower parts of the head could be more deffirent to each other in shapes for the sake of not to look horyzontally mirrored.

He looks pretty cool. The only problem i see is his body structure doesn't seem to be that of a flying creature, he looks too big and bulky to ever be able to get off the ground, I think his legs and bones should be more delicate and birdlike. That is if he will be a flying dragon.

wooow! this is really amazing
also i think wings are too small for a massive creature like this :hmm: and you should make his arms more muscular in my humble opinion :D

Wonderful modeling and the displacement looks great at this point! I agree with the wings, they really should have more surface area, and the bones are in the wrong spots for any serious physics issues. Still, it looks GREAT and is one of my favorite traditional dragons that I've seen thus far done in CG. Keep it up!
