View Full Version : Face rig video?

I've done a search but to no avail.

I'm looking for a face rigging video I saw(here I think) that showed someone placing the bones for the mouth then adding muscle bones in just a couple of clicks.

It may have even been an animated gif!

It revolutionised the way I see Messiah and face set up but now I can't find it!

If it sounds familiar, could someone please point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Matt

Thanks Grgeon, nice try, but the vid actually showed the set up taking place.

I feel like an idiotic customer in a video store asking "Have you got that movie, you know, with that guy?"

You might be right, the model was a cartoony dark haired male character.

I'll keep on digging. The reason it sticks in my memory so much is at the time we were doing face rigs in Max, which was difficult, and I saw this video of how easy it was in Messiah to set up the bones.

Thanks for your attempts guys.

sadicus,

if you go under products >messiah:animate you will see this gif towards the bottom of the page... unfortunately that's all there is :/

Hi,

maybe it was the description of a WIP by Maks; I remember him showing a test-movie and a screenshot with the bonesetup... but it wasnīt a tutorial and Maks couldnīt show more detail, since the project was under disclosure by the client.

The demo-vid is still up under:
http://maks.free.fr/messiah_facial_rig_demo.avi

And Maks, if you read this: Maybe you can post something now, that would work as some sort of tutorial for that great rig; even if we are so "unworthy"! ;)

Also, after seeing your demoreel, I would pay "loads" for a tutorial (series !?) on rigging if you would make one... I know that you propably havenīt got enough time... and I stay behind, being sad :(

Cheers,
LX

Thanks for your efforts.

I reckon that might be the set up, and I'd already saved his demo reel.

It must have been a little throw away gif or something he posted somewhere to show how easy muscle bones in Messiah were.
With the difficulty we were having in Max the ease of set up made me sick!(and glad I had Messiah at home)

I think he clicked the ends of bones arranged from the cheeks/nose to the edge of the mouth and Messiah automatically connected them to make a ring around the lips.

Sound familiar?

Joe Cosman has a CD tutorial that has that type of bone setup.
