Hey there!

I once found a tutorial/ tipp in the net where one guy describes how to make a texture tileable even if there is a 'gradient' in the luminance lvls.
for example if i have a picture of a brickwall where the light came from the right und faded out to the left.
Does anyone of u know how to get rid of this gradient, so that when i tile this piece i won't see an obvious repetitive pattern?

i tried search and tried to refind this guys's tip, but i didn't succeed.

thx in advance

You're probably looking for Filters->Others->High-Pass Filter. That's only going to get you partway, though, in that it'll help equalize the lighting information. Once that's done, you'll have to go in and fix up seams, either with feathered copy/paste, or with the clone stamp brush. Filters->Others->Offset will help this process a lot.

If you have Photoshop CS you could also try Image->Adjustments->Shadow/highlight.
