Hey everyone! :bounce:

I've finally been able to get some webspace, so I'm able to put some work on here after all this time!

I've started this thread as a means to keep me focused on making a reel by around spring/summer, so no slacking off from me any more!

to start with here's a quick animation of a cat falling to the ground. I'm at a stage where I've completed the breakdowns and straight ahead runs:

http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/andyholden/

hopefully (as with the life drawing thread) I'll be able to put some more stuff on here over the next few weeks.

any advice/feedback/crits much appreciated and welcome!

BTW, are you able to use PLE for showreels? I've been meaning to e-mail Alias/Autodesk to ask this if reels are classified as commercial purposes?

anyhow, thanks for looking

ok, might have re-phrased the above wrong. I did start this thread to keep me focused, but I also started it as a means of improvement so any advice/feedback/crit I am very grateful for.

ok, just been able to open the page successfully on another computer. Is anyone else having the same problem with this?

Link works fine for me, and from what I can see the animation is looking nice so far. PLEEEEEEZE post up a quicktime version! Crappy Windoz versions don't allow viewers to frame thru easily!

Oh, and using a PLE version for your reel is totally fine!

Hey Stu! was gonna send you this, so that's one job you've saved me.

here's a newer version with improved timing: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/andyholden/fast.html

BTW, you've probably noticed that I've had to put a windows version on again. this is because I went back onto Maya to redo the playblast as a .mov after reading the last post to be confronted with this:

this is the same thing what happened with my first attempt at this (Stu will remember I put an SOS on the rigging forum). does anyone know why this happened? is it a MelScript error?

anyhow, thanks for looking!

some follow through on the actions of the cat would look better. most of the action seems to be happening before the cat gets on screen. try to look for a better read, nd more natural twists to the cats body.

ok, thanks for the suggestion, but as you can tell it's all gone a bit dead on here at the moment (the cat's on hold until I can fix the rig). will get more stuff on here ASAP.
