View Full Version : problem with HDR lighting

HI,

i am facing a problem in getting proper bump and displcament mapping while rendering usng scanline hdr. i use 3dsmax7. evrn after a very high value i am not getting proper displacement. can anyone tell me the problem? is there any other control i have to check?

Sounds like your FG settings are smoothing out the details to me!! Because HDR is a diffuse lighting technique its very hard to see bump details-displacements, one work around is to add a few lights to the scene just emitting specular just to pick out the details...

yes, you are right. i used some standard direct light and getting some more details. i placed several more lights around the scene to get proper displacement as well
