View Full Version : Nilia 3.0 (nudity)

this is my Nilia character i've been working on for a while, and this is pretty much the third iteration of her. i'm going for the elusive "perfect" model, so i've redone the topology twice (the first one was rushed). anyways, i'm beginning to texture her, and this is probably as good a time as any for critiques on the model. Topology is pretty much unchangable now, because it would require rework that i just don't have time for any more. i need to finish her.

some background: (i have some notes on this 'story' on my website)
Nilia is a demon, and i've chosen to portray her as a black woman in her late 20's/early 30s, specifically for the purpose of breaking cliches.
the model shown is her human form, in which she looks entirely human, except for the horn ridges which she is not able to hide any further (except by covering them). her other demonic attributes are maskable.

if you see any inaccuracies in the anatomy or anything that should be addressed, please speak up. i'd rather get lots of constructive critique than a bunch of "looks good (thumbs up)" posts.

life like. I like it, she's good looking but not one of those playboy bunny models you see so often. I like her knees especially for some reason

Good model, looks very realistic, but shes not that good looking.

hoodedpython: do you mean you don't find her attractive, or what? i'm going more for the average girl look, but i want her to still be attractive at least.

a little update as i work on the face texture. i've got a bit left to do, but the base is mostly done i think. render in zbrush, turned the ambient up a bit, added a fake bump using the color map as the source, so it's not accurate.

critiques are greatly appreciated

it's been far too long without an update here. well, in any case, here i am, and here she is. the head shader and texture work is almost done i think. i'd like to hear what other people have to say though. don't mind the eyes, they're placeholders.

and some temporary hair i whipped up for her. when i have more time to dedicate to non-essential stuff, i'm going to make a real pass at the hair system, but for now, this'll suffice.

http://www.andrewraz.com/Images/WIP/eye_test09.jpgwell, here's the eye that i've been working on for a while. it gave me a lot of problems through the development, and it's been through many iterations, but i'm pretty happy with it right now.

the 'milky' kind of reflection on the front is an environment sphere with some dopey landscape for test purposes. final versions will have better reflection source, which hopefully will make the pupil actually black like it's supposed to be.
