well....I remember hearing that the DVD for the FOTR was leaked early because someone on the Oscars committee leaked it.

Who in their right mind would want to see it on DVD before seeing it on the big screen. Even if they went on sale today in stores legit I would still wait to see it in the theatre. Some movies just have to be experienced in the theater... at least for the first viewing.

Movie theatre patrons bug me..... i wouldnt mind seeing it on dvd first.

I remember FOTR, crammed like sardines into a packed theatre at 11o'clock at night... with a lack of airflow and no room to move. It was about as pleasureable as being on a bus in rush hour traffic.

Then the second time I watched it wasn't crammed at all...... only problem was from the chattering group of hags, and then some other guy who scoffed through the whole movie as though he was the one connoisseur of movies. I was happily seated between them.

I'm surprised I havent seen the term "movie rage" cropping up in papers ;)

So, are they selling real DVD's of the film?
As in what will be hitting the stores in the summer?

Or is it just some hidden-cam snuck into a private screening thats been transfered onto a DVD?

Either way, I'd reather see it in the theaters first.

Krugar I can sympathise with that, I've had a couple of awful experiences, mainly if you get a bunch of kids. As a general rule, people over here tend to be pretty respectful, tho when they're not you just want to smack them

haha, on the contrary, my FOTR experience was quite enjoyable, as I went to see it at 10 AM on the first day of showing. There were about 20 people in the theater, as everyone else was either at school or work.

Hehe, likewise for me, except it was boxing day for us here. I guess people just didnt want to get up "early" after christmas.

If you've been to movie theaters in China, you'd rather take the DVD instead.

My experience at a movie theater in Fuzhou, China:

Dirty screen that hasn't been cleaned in ages. Stains EVERYWHERE. 30% of the screen was covered with stains.

Non-stop ringing of cell phones, and people talking loudly on them, with NO intention of getting off. They talk like they are sitting around at home, with absolutely NO regard to the fact they are in the middle of a movie in public.

Loud talking from 30% of the audience. They don't even bother to whisper to each other. They talk as if they are in their own livingroom.

Old, dirty seats, and dirty floor.

They never show the credits of a film. They just cut it off when a movie ends.

People are constantly digging into their bags/packages of food, tearing apart the packaging, eating with their mouths open(a typical trait of the people in China), and spitting everywhere.

Now, tell me, if you lived in China, would you pick the DVD for $1 or go to a theater?

if someone talks on his cellphone during the two towers he'll probably be lynched right there.
