how do i set the prespective view to rotate around the selected object?

when i change viewports and then later switch back the viewports aren't saved at the position i left them is there a way to save them or auto save them?

is there a way to zoom in gentaly with a hotkey (without using the botton in the lower right) i know about the mouse scroller but that one is too rough sometimes

just some questions that can make life easyer especialy the rotate around selected object!....:hmm:

1) There are three Arc Rotate modes: Arc Rotate, Arc Rotate Object, and Arc Rotate Subobject. You are looking for the third one, you can find it under your arc rotate UI button.

2) Don't think so, unless you set up a camera for each one. XSI can do this, it's a nice feature, but sadly....

3) CTRL+ALT+MMB gives a smoother zoom than the scroll wheel.
