hello,

to be honest, how much is ae7 crashing :scream:

i got a project with a 35mm camera layer, now i have a .txt with camera data i want to import, so i do strg+c in the .txt file, strg+v in AE, crash.

AE doesnt even load when re-started if the camera data is still copied, i had to "overwrite" the copy cache of windows with copy-pasting any file to get AE to load again.

is there any other way to import camera data ?

the data itself comes from the "adobe after effects 6.5 - classroom in a book"-cd, so i dont think there is anything wrong with this file.

thanks in advance

AE 7 is quite stable, if you treat it right. In your case the clipboard format format might be wrong. There are minute changes in AE 7. Also make sure you select the property you want to paste keyframes to and only copy&paste one property at a time.

hi,

how can i change the clipboard format?

the header of the cameradata.txt is:

Adobe After Effects 5.0 Keyframe Data

Units Per Second 29.97
Source Width 720
Source Height 540
Source Pixel Aspect Ratio 1
Comp Pixel Aspect Ratio 1

Point of Interest
Frame X pixels Y pixels Z pixels
0.75 58.888 60.495 179.924
....
....
....

the composition settings are NTSC D1 Quad. Pixel, 720x540.

do you see any problems here ?

Create a dummy project in AE 7 for reference and paste they keyframes e.g. to Excel. You will see what's changed easily.

thanks a lot, finally got it !

for those who experience the same problem, heres the difference between the data files:

AE5.0:

Adobe After Effects 5.0 Keyframe Data

Units Per Second 29.97
Source Width 720
Source Height 540
Source Pixel Aspect Ratio 1
Comp Pixel Aspect Ratio 1

Point of Interest
Frame X pixels Y pixels Z pixels
0.75 58.888 60.495 179.924

AE7.0

Adobe After Effects 7.0 Keyframe Data

Units Per Second 29.97
Source Width 720
Source Height 540
Source Pixel Aspect Ratio 1
Comp Pixel Aspect Ratio 1

Transform Point of Interest
Frame X pixels Y pixels Z pixels
0.75 58.888 60.495 179.924

________________________________________________________________

as you see, the word "Transform" made the difference.

thanks again,
