Hi ppl

I have a Q, I have a friend who is handicapped person, he can only move one finger and a little bit his hand, that’s it, with that he makes animation.

Check out http://39poundsoflove.com/ (http://39poundsoflove.com/) ,

Any way here is the problem there is a big deferent of the mouse movements from windows NT to windows XP, the mouse wont move as fast as he can move in windows NT, and Ami can't upgrade to XP since the mouth is not moving fast enough,

That means that slowly slowly he is unable to upgrade the 3d and graphics program he is using,

Dose anyone have a program or Ida how to make the mouse in windows XP move faster then the programs offer? So Ami can upgrade to XP

Tnx allot

Can I suggest, and apologises if you've already tried this, to go into the mouse settings and see if you can make changes there. Usual route, Control panel etc.

I use Microsofts mice and always load the Intellimouse software which gives several options such as speed, so I don't remember if these come standard with XP.

Best of luck.

Well we did try every option in the XP control panel,

as for the mouse Ami can only work with a mouse that he is costume to, and it a bit old, no special features to it,

And he can't change the mouse,

i googled for it and found not that much so far. Maybe this can help u but it doesnt really look like a program : http://osr507doc.sco.com/en/GECG/X_Mouse_ProcAcclConfig.html

I changed the speed setting on my logitech, and can get it to move really fast.. just by touching the mouse slightly the cursor already jumps to the other side of the screen. But i guess this doesnt help a lot cause he cant use another mouse. Wish u guys good luck !

I guess I am unable to comprehend the problem.

Even if the mouse (cursor) moves slower in XP, he would still be able to do his work, right? Will the slower mouse affect his thruput so much that he would face loss in income? Or is he emotionally tied to his established mode of operation so a change of cursor speed is not acceptable.

PS. I have used NT and did not recall that its mouse movement is any speedier than other Window versions. Is it possible that the slowness of the cursor movement hardware related, ie, his PC just don't have enough power to run XP efficiently?

I guess I am unable to comprehend the problem.

obviously ...

read the first post again. if your hand movements are very limited, u need a mouse cursor that moves really fast, or else u won't be able to access the whole screen. What he needs is for his mouse to just move eg. one cm, and his cursor to move across the screen, from one side to the other.

In XP you can change the speed and accelleration of the mouse. That would do exactly as what you describe.

Heck all versions of windows have that option...

EDIT:
Also, depending on the mouse drivers, you can get a bit more out of it. Some mice will allow the alteration of the accelleration. This really gets things going (from memory).

Use the manual regustry enties to gain more control over speed and acceleration
