pflanzenjoe 12-10-2002, 09:04 PM i have a 30 day version of a new program, called Xfrog that i
wanted to share with you my experiences, as it seems very powerful - it is procedural and uses a network of connected nodes to create organic shapes.
they have really nice models of trees, flowers and cacti and their gallery is great:

a version of xfrog was given away free on one of the computer mags recently in the uk...with an upgrade option.
never did get around it messing with it....been to busy....are well.
the new version allows you to use your models in c4d...so may prove very useful to users who wanna make organic models and trees and the like...i seem to remember it having some wierd way of modelling....love to see any ones result if they tried it out...also there experiences of c4d integration.

It was DigitMag that made the offer, and I upgraded as XFrog had been on my wishlist for quite a long time.
When installing the plugin in the Cinema folder (it is on the goodies CD) you can indeed open XFrog files in Cinema8, complete with textures et all. But you can also export as obj to do further tweaking in Cinema and texture there.
I am told that they are working on a version4 which will tightly integrate with C8. Let's hope they can do the coding for mac too as this is a case of unfair discrimination. All Cinema users have equal rights, even when it comes to spending their money.

Did it ever occur to you that they might simply not have enough resources to do that?
It's not always a conspiracy... but they also have a lot of non-Cinema customers, the majority of which don't use macs (many of them use software that isn't available on the mac)... so if you're running a business, what are you going to do when you cannot afford to cater to the smallest segment of your market?
Odds are, if they are able to afford to expend the effort, they will do so in order to gain some more customers. Let them know that there's demand.
