Hi all
I am an experienced video editor (and composer) getting very serious about compositing.
I would like to brush up (no pun) on some of the basics like color theory, Perspective etc. I have been looking at online classes like The Art Institute and Devry but they seem to mostly have associate degrees. I already have a BS in music. I would just like some college level classes on art/design theory . Anyone know of any good online schools and or resources?

Thanks in advanced

This is a fantastic resource. Go through ALL of these, study them and post your work on CGTalk for crits and you're sure to improve drastically.

mike harper,

Check out the CGWorkshops:

http://workshops.cgsociety.org/

While there not be something offered right now which interests you, they are always adding new courses to the fray ~ so stay tuned. :)

Also, check out this highly informal free Color Workshop on the Anatomy Forum:

Color Theory and The Human Figure - NUDITY (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=303793)

We also just have tons of resources for learning principles of Figurative Art (Traditional / Digital Drawing / Painting) on the Anatomy Forum here on CGTalk:

Artistic Anatomy and Figurative Art (http://forums.cgsociety.org/forumdisplay.php?f=177)

Cheers, :)
