ive just put together my showreel with premiere pro its about a minute and a half long and 300 meg! can anyone recommend me any good free/ cheap software for compressing it or is there anything i can do to the settings in premiere to make it a more managable size?

Do not use the "File | Export | Movie..." menu option to create your video file.

Go to "File | Export | Adobe Media Encoder..." menu option...

Select one of the pre-made compression options for either QuickTime or Windows Media. Something like 56K is going to be very small in size and quality, but 256 or 512 will be better.

This will solve your problem.
