We've begun on modeling.

Looks like you're off to a flying start.
It will be cool to see it in a nice atlantic storm.

actually, it's during the dead of winter in the atlantic, look more for semi calm waters and ice bergs ;)

Nice, i like the detail on her.
The massive Main guns should take out any hood on the water :P
But watch out for them sword fish, i hear they tend to attack you.
Good job so far, cant wait to see more.

I am not happy with this at all, but here's a water/ice shader test. I KNOW I can do better!

hey, I think it blooming good I knew it was an Iceberg as soon as I saw it, one thing about it though it seems to flat at the top, but like you said your just working on the shader. :)

my issue with it is that it still looks way too cartoonish. Something I am trying desperately to avoid. I really dont feel like building my own shader from scratch :)

hmm i dont know.. I try to imagine someone going up those stairs and then I look at the size of those bolts on the guns! something is not in proportion..

yep, you're right about that. After I get my ice field done, I'm gonna go ahead and tweak those and finish up the ship.

I'd suggest you drop the bloom a little, it's looking VERY bright. Otherwise, looks quite nice.

I REALLY liked on the original iceberg render how you could really see part of the berg that was below the water. I can see on your lastest render that you can still kind of see that, but I think it'd improve the look if that were more visible. Just my two cents. But everythings looking great so far. Keep up the good work!

oh no worries, this is just some ice ^^ for the ice shelf ;) The bergs are gonna be there still :)
Here's a map I drew for Sebastien:

hehe yeah! I doubt we'll be able to finish this in time for the contest, but it'll definatly continue past then :) Problem is that I just got contracted to do a huge Eve-Online gathering event in Las Vegas on the 15th so I'm working my ass off for that! But I will update this so don't worry :)
The Eve (www.eve-online.com) gathering will have myself and a few others doing the game models in high detail and doing fleet combat in space.
