Well, it's just a face but... I was going to post some picures here before, but my computer freaked out, my hard disk fried and basically I lost every single picture I had been working on. I'll post something new if I manage to get in the mood for drawing some day soon, or if I get my drawings back from school soon.

Octopodi,

I've just seen your Anatomy Thread! Lovely image...I'm terribly sorry to hear about your hard drive...I know it's too late for the pieces you were working on, but I really recommend investing in an external hard drive if you don't already have one, and backing up periodically. Also, sometimes it may seem as if your hard drive has fried, when it's just the boot drive. Can you take your computer somewhere to be looked out, to make sure it's not just the boot drive? This has happened to me before, where I thought I had lost all my info. on my hard drive, when that was not in fact the case. It certainly does pay in this day and age to have an IT friend. :D

Really looking forward to seeing more of your work from school...this piece is beautiful! Is it from a photo?

Cheers, :)

Rebeccak: I used some photo reference of my own old photos, but then I just erased the whole picture and started something new as I wasn't quite satisfied with it. My dad had an external hard drive and he gave that to me so that I can save my future projects there until I get my own one :D.

Ravena: thank you :)

warpyy: I like redheads too, I paint them most of the time and I think I need to start drawing something else too.

Octopodi,

Very nice set of drawings! I suddenly feel the need to scratch my own nose, however...:D

Glad to see these studies! Maybe some eye, mouth, or ear studies next? :)

Cheers,

Thanks, everyone, it's really nice to know someone likes my drawings, mostly they just get ignored. These last few days I've been spending time with my friend so I haven't really got any time to post anything here. I'll sketch something new today and post it here.
I'm really happy that my friend asked me to teach her some cg, because I want to help anyone that's interested in hearing what I have to say :D So, you can use anything that I post here as reference if it helps you in any way :) I mostly draw from life or use pictures that I have taken myself as reference.

You've done great job with your studies here. Especially those sketches of eyes look really good. I would love to see a couple of drawings of hands from you. They are usually the most problematic for me.

Oh, and it's always nice to see a new Finn on CGTalk. :)

That's good enough for me.

Haven't posted anything in a while but I got myself to draw something so here's a skull for you :) enjoy. It looks a lot better on paper though. I bought a new wacom drawing pad so the next images I post here will most likely be cg :)

Octopodi,

Beautiful drawing! That's an amazing leap even from your previous work! Great stuff, looking forward to seeing more. :) What was your reference?

Cheers, :)

Octopodi

I used a skull that I spotted at our biology classroom as reference and continued to draw that one at home using my anatomy book as reference :)

Ah, very cool! Does the science class have a full skeleton? It would be great to do some drawings from that ~ lol, in high school, I once borrowed (with my instructor's permission, of course) a full size skeleton to draw from at home ~ it looked pretty funny sitting in the front passenger seat of my car ~ hahahaha, I had forgotten about that until just now! :D

Cheers, :)

I think there is a full skeleton at our science class :) Lol, I can imagine the looks on other people's faces when they saw you sitting next to a skeleton :D

It's been a while without posting anything here but I'll try to post pics more often from now on :)

This one was drawn at school for a friend and it has a few flaws in it but I've already given it away so I can't repair them anymore.

Octopodi,

Nice to see you back here! :) Lovely drawing, I particularly like the sensitive rendering of the bones ~ nice work there. I think a bit of the drawing quality is lost in the shoe, which seems a bit less dimensional. Otherwise, this is a pretty strong drawing, hope to see more work. :)

Cheers,

Eeergh. I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately. I'll just post a wip here and get back to work : P

Trying to finish this one today, total time spent on it about 7-9 hours.

Finally got the hands about right, still need to fix the fingertips and add saturation and red but I'm really happy at this point (except the thumb.. errr...). Didn't really have as much time as I had imagined to spend on this one today, only about 2 hours. I'll start painting her legs tomorrow and after that I have to rework her face, paint her hair and check the shadows and highlights and overall try to improve the whole pic and the details in it. Going to be a busy day, might even add some background to it. :D
