Hey all,

I am wondering what you all would reccomend for rendering optimized for DVD output. Our pipeline consists of rendering out of Maya via Renderman, compositied in After Effects, Edited in Final Cut Pro and Burned with DVD Studio Pro.

What original resoultion out of Rman would you reccomend? And what final compression would you reccomend before burning.

Thanks all,

Brad

I can only offer my own experience.
I rendered out a series of frames in Truespace and put them together in Media Studio pro. However, after rendering out the animation with the DV codec, the image degraded- noticably. It was a compression issue. Even the 10%-11% compression can take a lot out of an animated sequence.

I have rendered out the anim as an un-compressed avi, but have yet taken it to DVD.
