So I've been looking around at pricing for notebook RAM, since the 512MB in my Tablet is seriously not cutting it, and noticed an odd pattern. The Kingston PC4200 533 RAM was going for a lot less than the equivalent at PC3200, 333Mhz (about 2/3 the price, on average). Is there anything particularly bad about the Kingston PC4200 RAM? Or was there simply some kind of oversupply situation to drive the prices that low?

One related question: If my Tablet is rated to handle PC4200 533 RAM, but currently has a stick of PC3200 400 RAM, sticking one of the above Kingstons in addition to my current stick would simply mean that it would step down to the existing PC3200 at 400Mhz, correct?

You'll notice that DDR2 modules (in notebooks) tend to be lower priced than thier DDR1 counter parts. It pretty much means there is a larger volume of the chips on the market. There shouldnt be anything wrong with the kingston.

Okay, so it is a supply thing. Good to know, thanks for clarifying. :) Should be able to swing a stick or two of 1GB each for my birthday this month. :)
