View Full Version : USB switch / splitter?
DrQuincy 02-09-2006, 08:09 AM I connect my mouse, tablet and keybaord to my PC through the same USB connection. I have two PCs though. Rather than splashing out on a full on PC workstation switch (for monitor, PS2, USB) can I get a cable that splits one USB into two and lets me switch between the two connections?
Thanks.

Why not use synergy? If you've got two monitors, it will allow you to move the mouse across both systems (similar to how a dual screen setup would work). All that is needed is a network connection, and one keyboard and one mouse.

Synergy? Is that software or hardware based? I have never heard of it before.
Good guide on Synergy:

I just tried it - wow! What a useful application. Thanks for suggesting Synergy - it's exactly what I needed!
NP, its a great program. I use it all the time at work to drive all the different setups I've got running (linux/windows) on to 4 displays :)
