I'm almost embarrassed to post this, but this seems to be a default setting someplace that I haven't been able to locate.

I am attempting to grab a set of vertices on the top of one object, and move them on the selected axis straight up and snap to the same height of the object next to it. Very simple. However, now when I actually select, and then click, it centers the vertices to my pointer, and then attempts to snap the center point to the grid.

I've been over the snap panel 5 times at least, anyone know what this, where the option may live in Max? I thought it might be that rubber band, but it just hides the gizmo.

Help would be most appreciated!

EDIT: Ok, found the option to constrain to axis, still won't snap to verts tho. Any ideas?

Not sure if you've tried this:

On the first screen of the snap dialogue box, you can select what you want to snap to. It sounds to me that the snap is set to its default setting, with is to snap to grid points. Uncheck the grid points option, and select vertex from the list. That should do it

Another way to get to snap options is in the SHIFT+RMB quad menu.
