Hi!

I posted a still of this scene (of my upcoming reel) before the server crash, so I will post it once more.
The background is painted in photoshop, I used photos as reference. The original plane is a third party model. I modified the model and textured it. All effects are post-produced.

I will post the video if you are interested.

Coments and critiques, please! :)

Hi!

Thanks for the replies :)

I will post the video tomorrow. I must convert it to NTSC format. But I will only post this sequence (10seconds).

The city is made as a collage of photos painted over them with half of the buildings created from scratch.

Yes, you are true, facial & bitmap. Thanks for the advice!
I just corrected the color.
The old image can still be viewed here:

these look great!!! nice heat exhaust effect... was it done with a displacement map????

cut up the city image into three sections,

1. farbackggound
2. middleground
3. foreground...

...from there move them independantly (back goes down, front goes up), within the first second I saw the animation, the lack of depth of the buildings was apparent. It would make a huge difference.

Thanks for the comments!

HellRender: That's true. I wanted a extreme effect (maximized with the wound, but perhaps I overdid it) :P

gL_spear: Great you noticed it! :) That effects were done in post. I rendered only a pair of white self-illuminated spheres linked to the plane movements and used them as a mask for the effect. The exhaust is a displacement wave plus blur and a little brightness.

zandernice: Good point, but I think that way could look like anime. The best way should have been to model the near buildings leaiving the bg as that matte, but I don't have so much time :P

Regards!

Daniel.

Hey cool.

But it seems like the plane is floating in the air. But there are no engines to support that movement. But if it should be flying forward (like normal planes do), then you better zoom into the background, and maybe really divide it into 3 planes.
Also the second shot looks strange. Because the distance between camera and plane is nearly the same as in shot one, so focus is the same, but the background is far more blurry, even though the buildings appear to be bigger (and closer) to the camera. That's odd. They should be sharper than those in shot one.
