CGTalk - LW <-> Max file I/O

I am wondering if there is a plugin available to import & or export LW data from 3dsmax and the the same for lightwave...

Any plugins or suggestions about how i might do this?

There used to be a LWO import plugin for max, but I had mixed results with that. But I don't know if it was released for max4-5.

Both programs can import/export .3ds files though.
