CGTalk - February Sketches

I decided to this for a friend of mine. I'm illustrating from a description he gave me. Having fun with the greys in Photoshop. I'm planing to add some color later, trying out a different technique (against what I usually paint like). This time I won't be painting any sort of "intelligent forms" LOL...(even though it's what I really love to paint!)

updating...working on the damn textures ... currently on the snowy side...crits and recommendations welcome!:) I'll go on and try to finish the overall structures, including a required bridge...and then work on the rest some more...(and at the end correct the lighting as much as possible...)

Where exactly is the light source coming from?

thanks paperclip!!! the correct lighting would be on the left tower but I'm not gonna bother with it until I finish all the structures heheee...it could be a bit confusing since snow tend to kind of glow...even if it's dark.

I tried to make the snow on the cliff a bit more...realistic? anyway I am still not sure if I like how it's coming along... perhaps I'll paint over it again...

Took a break from the dwarven thingie...

and painted tilda swinton as the white witch...in my weird style...just for kicks...
will touch it up later... I used the promo poster for reference.

random doodles wheeeeee... my mind got invaded by characters... I love a few of those faces... perhaps will revisit in the future and do something serious with them.

Nice variation on hairstyle on the doodles. Lips and expressions are really nice too, are they digital?
