CGTalk - Part name to texture name

hi,

I am currently woring on a project and i need to transfer the part name of some selected faces onto a new shader of the same name.
The process i am going through just now is:-
1.select by part
2.Copy part name
3.create new material with same name as part.

I am going to have to do this hundreds of time and really would like to nkow if there is an easy way to do this or if there are any scripts available.

I don't know of anything that could do that. I looked at flay.com couldn't find anything. I think you will have to write a script for that. :sad:

"part to surfs" command in lightwave 8.5

There's surfaces to parts in my 8.5 but I didn't see parts to surfaces. Maybe I should rescan my plugins and add it manually???

We are using version 8.0 just now but we have the update its just not installed yet :)

ercax: it should be in your additional plugins dropdown in your utilities menu
